Sicily has all the potential to engage the restart before other major international competitors, fully exploiting the potential that is intrinsic to the history and DNA of our land.
Hospitality, unique cultural and landscape heritage in the world (Sicily holds 15% of the Unesco heritage in Italy), the extraordinary heterogeneity of experiences that can be lived, from slow tourism to cultural tourism, passing to places and structures suitable for families and sportsmen.
With regard to support measures for the sector, as I mentioned, the See Sicily promotion plan is about to start, which provides a package of services for those arriving on the island, including one free night for every 3 of their stay.
See Sicily, which foresees investments of around 75 million euros, aims to structurally relaunch the sector after a critical year due to the health emergency.
The See Sicily tourist package, in addition to one night every three paid by the Sicilian Region, also includes free guided tours, entrances to museums, archaeological parks, sites of interest. From October, the promotional offer will also extend to air travel with the aim of enticing tourists to arrive in Sicily even after the summer.
We are also focusing on deseasonalization, we are already projected towards autumn, filling Sicily with events that will start in October, such as the Sports Tourism Fair, a festival dedicated to Vincenzo Bellini up to a great project for Christmas. We must be increasingly aware that tourism is a competing industry in the global market.
In short, I just have to tell you: we are waiting for you in Sicily!
